WebOct 26, 2024 · This work analyzes the occurrence of HOIC at Summit, Greenland, from July 2015 to June 2024. Using polarization lidar and ancillary atmospheric sensors, ice crystal orientations are identified and used to interpret cloud radiative impact on the surface radiation budget. We find HOIC occur in at least 25.6% of all ice-only column observations. WebOct 31, 2024 · Like our shortwave cloud radiative forcing results, we find NW and NE blocking produce Greenland-average longwave cloud radiative forcing reductions (−8.37 and −9.65W/m 2) that are two to three times greater than those for SW and SE block days because of larger cloud fraction and cloud water path reductions.
Forcing and Responses of the Surface Energy Budget at Summit, …
WebAt Summit Station, clouds radiatively warm the surface in all months with an annual average cloud radiative forcing value of 33 Wm2, largely driven by the occurrence of … WebData collected by multiple projects are leveraged to calculate all surface energy budget (SEB) terms at Summit, Greenland, for the full annual cycle from July 2013 to June 2014 and extend to longer periods for the radiative and turbulent SEB terms. Radiative fluxes are measured directly by a suite of broadband radiometers. crossword clue cardboard container
